A book about a Saloon?
Well….partially… A friend gave one of us this book. It’s full of stories about life in NYC in the 1940’s and is worth the read: it documents the kinds of work persons used to do, so you get a vivid picture of a 20th century landscape. In one of the stories we meet “The No Swear Man” and this is what’s important about this story:
